IIM-CSIC
The Institute of Marine Research of the Spanish Research Council (IIM-CSIC) is a leading marine research centre in the Iberian Peninsula. Located in Vigo, a city deeply tied to the sea, the IIM-CSIC faces the challenge of increasing our knowledge about the ocean, ranging from its physical characteristics to the food resources it provides and the processes that bind the whole system together. As part of the CSIC, IIM aims to contribute to the United Nations Sustainability Goals and support society in overcoming the huge challenges that stand before us.

IEO-CSIC
The Spanish Institute of Oceanography of the Spanish National Research Council (IEO-CSIC) is a marine research centre located in Vigo. IEO-CSIC focuses on advancing scientific knowledge of the oceans, promoting the sustainability of fishery resources, and preserving the marine environment. In addition to conducting basic and applied research, the IEO-CSIC offers scientific and technological expertise to support policymakers and administrators in matters related to oceanography and marine sciences.

CIMA Research Foundation
The CIMA International Environmental Monitoring Centre Foundation, based in Savona, is a non-profit research organisation dedicated to advancing scientific study, technological innovation, and advanced training in engineering and environmental sciences. A key area of CIMA’s work involves studying the impact of human activity on marine ecosystems, with a particular emphasis on species within the Pelagos Sanctuary — a marine protected area spanning France, Monaco, and Italy. Specialising in cetaceans, CIMA develops and maintains a comprehensive database to monitor their populations over time, analyse their distribution, and assess their health.

PELAGIS
The PELAGIS Observatory, based in La Rochelle, is a Joint Research Unit of the CNRS and La Rochelle University, operating in partnership with the Ministry responsible for ecology. By monitoring and assessing the health of marine ecosystems, PELAGIS provides vital scientific support for public policies aimed at conserving marine mammals and birds. Additionally, it contributes to the implementation of French obligations in terms of marine megafauna conservation within the framework of the European Union.

CIIMAR
The Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR), located in Matosinhos, is an institution of the University of Porto research ecosystem, leader in Marine and Environmental research and advanced training, working at the frontier of Ocean Knowledge and Innovation. CIIMAR fosters an integrated approach to promote the understanding of biological, physical and chemical dynamics of Ocean and coastal areas, aiming to unravel Ocean and ecosystems functioning, the impact of human activities and responses to Global Changes.
